Precious Lives
Life is one of the most precious things we have in this world. Unfortunately, people don’t always regard it as precious. For some, life means nothing. This is a sad thing to realize, because God holds life in the highest regard for everyone in this world. Thankfully, most people can stand up for their lives and can speak out, but what about those who have no voice? What about those who some believe have no regard? You would think the people of this country would say that we need to defend those people, but they don’t.
During this week, the outlook on life has been forever changed through the eyes of this country. The governor of New York State made sure of that by passing the New York ‘Reproductive Health Act. New York was already the abortion capital of America; but now, an innocent baby of nine-months, who is ready to be born at any minute, can be terminated at the will of the mother.
While New York legislators cheered and applauded for the passing of the bill, God wept for His children. There is no excuse for killing innocent children, and there is no argument that can stand for it. God’s Word says that He personally made each one of us and has a special plan for each life. Who gave us the power to decide who gets a chance at life and who doesn’t?
“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” Psalm 139:13-16
This bill, New York “Reproductive Health Act,” passed in the state legislature on Tuesday, January 22nd, 2019, to commemorate the 46th anniversary of Roe v. Wade. Let us pray for those who have no voice.
