The Gift of Spring

What can you feel? What can you hear? What happens when we take a moment to slow down? What is it that we will see?

It’s that time of year when the air begins to warm up. It’s when you start seeing the buttercups adorning your yard and hearing the birds chirping their favorite tune. Spring is the season of rebirth and renewal; it represents new beginnings. New green grass is coming up from the ground; flowers and tree buds are blooming; and colors are once again decorating the earth. It’s also that time of year when we celebrate the gift of everlasting life. It’s the new life that has been gifted to us by the One who gave up His own. This is stated in the well-known verse John 3:16-17, which states, “For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not die but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to be its judge, but to be its Savior.”

God has given us this account in the Scripture so that we may know Him and so that we will be saved from death. He has given our lives hope and our spirit renewal. I believe this is why we have been given the gift of spring so that we can be reminded of the new beginning that has been given to us by our Lord Jesus Christ.
