Keep Moving Forward
The other day I was thinking back to when I was babysitting. There is a family I babysit for a lot, and one thing we look forward to is having our movie nights. I was thinking about a night when we were watching the Disney movie “Meet the Robinsons.” I probably have seen this movie with these kids so many times, and we have yet to get tired of it. In the middle of the movie, one of the kids asked me why the characters were cheering when the main character Lois failed. I remember explaining to her that the characters were not cheering to be mean but because we learn from failure. That’s why the main moto of the movie is “Keep Moving Forward.” When we fail, we learn something. We learn what we did wrong so we can get it right, but more importantly we learn not to give up no matter how hard or how frustrating it is. It makes us a whole lot stronger. I love how Walt Disney said it:
“Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we’re curious…and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.” ~Walt Disney
It is so great how Disney is filled with these teachable moments. And I love it when I am able to use these teachable moments with the kids. This is a huge reason why I think Disney movies are so great – to help us teach kids what is good and right.
